support@getbranch.appFrequently asked questions
Why does Branch ask for my location?
Branch uses your location only to calculate accurate Shabbat candle-lighting times and other zmanim for where you are. It's processed on your device and never leaves it. If you decline, Branch defaults to Jerusalem time.
Does Branch work offline?
Yes. Scripture text, translations, prayers, and the holiday calendar are bundled with the app, so reading and reference features work without an internet connection.
Which translations does Branch use?
Every section pairs a Hebrew source with the World Messianic Bible in English. Torah, Haftarah, Psalms, and Ketuvim use Sefaria's Hebrew text, and the Brit Chadasha uses the Delitzsch Hebrew New Testament. The World Messianic Bible is the Messianic edition of the World English Bible and is in the public domain, courtesy of eBible.org. It is presented unmodified.
Can I switch between Sefardi and Ashkenazi transliteration?
Yes, in Settings you can choose Sefardi/Modern Hebrew or Ashkenazi transliteration, and it applies across the whole app.
I found a bug or a scripture reference looks wrong. What should I do?
Please email us with as much detail as you can, including your device type and what you were doing when it happened, and we'll take a look.
